Would you happen to have any spare 2.5" IDE drives kicking around for a
little project[1] I have? Doesn't need to be huge, 40Gb or thereabouts.

    TIA

[1] also going down the power saving route. Going to use a mac-mini as a
    DHCP/Web/Media/Proxy server.

I had a hard time finding one for Wilson. I've got SATA drives coming
    out of my ears.....

I found only 3 IDE/PATA drives in that pile - and only one worked !

I'll have a hunt around to see if there's owt else in some of my
    "archive" cupboards.

Bloody hell! OK how much for a big (500GB+) normal desktop SATA mista?
Mine's fucked - hence the demise of my HTPC.

Sorry, newer larger stuff gets used internally.

Older obsolete stuff that can't be returned or used by our service
center is flogged off and the money is donated to our local charriddy
    fund.

  9. Cheers. No worries if not - they seem to be drying up now and a
well-used secondhand one is of uncertain life expectancy, so a fairly
fresh 'sample' item seems like a good thing to have.
