  1. What's the name of the sharp right-hander just before Karussell? I
thought it was Klostertal but looking on maps that appears to be the
sweeping right before the one I'm interested in.

It is, on some maps it's wrongly labelled, the last bend before
Karussell is Klostertal, and the one prior to that is known as
    Mutkurve or Angstkurve.

According to the back of the bathroom door !

Tricky little cove that, sometimes it leaps out on those who are unaware
where they are on the track.

  5. I saw that on some maps but assumed that was the name of the disused
straight - and I think it was but gave the name to the bend later.
Quite. My prep for the Ring was to play Forza a bit and watch the ring
taxi video a few times. In the game I always found that curve to be a
bit of a bugger. On the one lap I actually attempted - just before
they closed on the only dry day of my holiday - I was probably a
little over-cautious but thought it better to err on that side.

  6. Aye - Steilstrecke is the shortcut up the hill to Hohe-Acht, most people
just refer to the bend itself as Steilstrecke-Kurve.

Very satisfying if you've managed to carry speed on the climb starting from
    Bergwerk through Kesselchen and Klosteral.

If you're not carrying speed and are lacking bhp then it can be really
annoying as the climb really saps power.
