  1. [Heralds]
I swapped my 2.0l TC for a herald, first time I cam home from tech I
tried cornering at the same speed I had in the TC and ended up going
back the way I'd just come.

  2. Triumph Vitesse convertible with the 2.6 engine in it.
Rapped up warm in the winter with snow on the ground and the sun out was
    something special.

  3. I had one of the last made Vitesse. It was a bugger for spares used a
lot of other Triumph (ie. GT6) bits including an engine which according
to the microfiche at the garage said it had a 2.2, I found out recently
it was a 2.6 from the saloon with carbs fitted.

Got through 2 diffs the third was on the way out when I sold it.

I've had a load of Heralds and have been able to drive them quite
quickly. The major problem I had with them was the loss of traction as
they retracted the rear under carriage.

It's worth bearing in mind they started life as a 950cc 27hp car for the
ladies (W,KYL) and finished up at 2.0L 100+hp on essentially the same
    chassis and suspension.

    Marvellous cars.

  6. Eldest brother had one for a number of years. Apparently the tendancy
that it had to try to go backwards/forwards was part of its charm.

He could judge it pretty closely as to when and how far the back end
would go.. and specialised in frightening people silly.

Until he met his wife. Who clouted him round the head (metaphorically)
and told him to grow up.

Why are women so obsessed about this growing up thing?

I think it's related to them not having the gene that lets you
appreciate handbrake turns in gravel car parks.

  9. Dunno. Mind you he still pulls stunts like that in his SOC - a Honda
4WD thingy that he drives at extremely high speed round the Kent
    countryside.
