Are you still okay for Friday afternoon?
You're based around Canterbury, aren't you? If that's right then I could meet you in Canterbury, then we could hoon on down the A28 down to Ashford and carry on to Hastings should you wish, then pop to Rye up the A259 then it's decision time. Rye to Hythe is quite fun either on the A259 or on the Lydd Road. Both have poisitive points. I'd suggest going via Lydd, turning right (south)at the roundabout and then going via Dungeoness (Have you seen the lighthouse - near the end of the Light Railway?) before bogging off up to Hythe via Dymchurch. Then up through Saltwood on to the A20 (Near M20 junction 11) then up on toe the Alkham Valley via Folkestone before ending up in Dover. <http://hayn.gotadsl.co.uk/map1.gif> <-- 3h40m (104 miles) Looks quite good, but acting it out on a fading afternoon could be troublesome. Chopping off Hastings brings it down to 2h51m (79 miles) and then chopping off Dungeness = 2h13m (73 miles), chopping off Saltwood & A20 saves another 6 minutes (70 miles) before we'd end up in Dover. Much more manageable. <http://hayn.gotadsl.co.uk/map2.gif> <-- 2h7m (70 miles) However, should you still be up for Friday I'm sure the route could be totally and utterly ignored depending on how the day is feeling. Let me know when/where we should meet.
