I'm well aware it doesn't. But I would also say that most people wouldn't
    consider a requirement of:

    3. Less than £400/pp (including food/drink/everything).

to mean fully inclusive. It simply means that's the total they want to
spend. They will get much better value and a much better holiday avoiding
    fully inclusive.

The fact remains that for £400 pppw you can have a really good holiday in
    Tenerife.

This is, of course, completely irrelevant as one of the requirements was not
    to go to the Canaries.

I probably will (although not fully inclusive and not with lastminute).

Or snow. We (Ski Club of GB) have just dropped the scandie resorts
because so few people are going there. Should be OK in Jan, I guess.
    You going to Äre?

That's the one. Toward the end of Jan, so while the days won't be the
longest they shouldn't be prohibitively short.

I was going to make a foray into the ski groups as I appear to have
problems with my boots. Every time I do anything on the board I find
the boots so uncomfortable I can barely stand after about 15 minutes.
I've tried loosening them off, but it gets to the point I feel my feet
are rattling around in the boots and I'm about to be detached from the
    plot.

The looser the boots get the more comfortable they are, but the less
control I have. The acceptable comfort point is way past the
acceptable control point, so there's a problem. The boots themselves
have ratchet straps and laces, and are attached to step-in bindings.
I've tried looser laces and tighter straps and this worked well, but
the last time I tried (the other night) I couldn't get it back.

I have used rather thick socks so far. To me it seems the boots are
too small/snug and the socks aren't helping. I can either try thinner
socks (a bit of a worry going somewhere as cold as Sweden) or new boots
(thus cancelling out the nice saving I made by having my own gear).

It's only a little over five hours. And, from my perspective, once
you're over two hours, it doesn't really matter if it's five hours or
    ten.

You can get some deals, but this time of year's probably not it. When
it's blisteringly hot in the summer, you can get over there for
    pennies.

I'm going tomorrow morning. Staying at the Emirates Towers. Should be
    pos.

Although, much more than 11 hours and I begin to run out of things to do,
having read, watched, eaten and drunk everything in sight.

Agreed - wandering around the local market and buying local produce is
part of the holiday for us. It's also nice just to knock up a meal in
the apartment and sit on the balcony / terrace with a couple of bottles
    of wine for the evening.

It's great to do the above for one evening, sure, but don't forget
you're missing out on all the great local restaurants if you do it all
week, so you'll go home having enhanced your culinary experience not a
    jot.

I think we did it twice on our last holiday. We've been to this place a
few times now and have covered 80-odd percent of the local restaurants,
so don't mind eating in the apartment a few times a week.

Though I'll admit on my recent holiday in Spain, I cooked about 5
nights out of the 10 we were there, because we weren't in walking
distance of any restaurants, and also, because (one of) the kids turned
out not to like Spanish food, making things a bit awkward.

    really?

I mean, crimbo aside, what is so special about this time of year for
    foreign hols?

I am told that Thompson and I imagine others are offering some rather
nice 3 weeks for the price of two if you book early.
