Paging Bear

  1. I seem to have lost the warranty paperwork for the Shagwah mate, remind
me of how I go about making a claim?

Only it's only gone and failed its MOT, hasn't it?

Two flexible brake hoses perished. Disgusting, I call it. That's going
to take me at least ten minutes to sort out.

    I blame Bear.

At least it was caught on the MOT and not at 80mph when you put your
foot on the brakes entering a 40.

    That wasn't pleasant.

I have no idea what you're on about. I've practically got a trilby these
    days.
Of course, of course. What does this button do?..

    Oops.

It has to be said that there's a fairly slippery bit of road outside
Milton Keynes rail station. I left there with a colleague on board last
week, on a slightly damp day.

Fortunately, he's a non-driver and he probably didn't know that that
    wasn't supposed to happen...

Are dem XKR supercharged (convertible) jobbies good for owt? they seem
to sport rather catastrophic depreciation oop north which (of course)
    makes it interesting.

Sounds like it was more like "rear end first". As in, "we exited
through the hedge, rear end first".

    Good for cheapness.
Though I like ragtops, the convertible doesn't have nice lines with
the top up *or* down. So I prefer the fhc. But it just has a hint of
    "I wanted a DB7 but couldn't afford one".

I've driven one, and thought it a beautiful car. The one I drove had
an auto box, which spoiled it for me, but let's not have that
    discussion again :)

The insides of them (XKRs) are a bit old style looking, sort of 1970
XJ6 look, or as Lozzo puts it 'Ford parts bin'.

I was gobsmacked to discover I could actually fit inside one with room
to spare. Resisted the offer of a test drive, knew I wouldn't be able
to resist buying it if I had.

The door handles on the XK range were designed so that a lady wouldn't

    with her nails.

Same floorpan, innit? As were the DB7 with the XJS and, IIRC, the
    DB8/XK8.

Oh, and don't forget the golf :)

    One day.

Actually sod that. If I ever have that kind of money to spend on a
car, I'd be getting a real Aston.
