It's Friday night and I have had a very trying week.
Fortunately, when I arrived home the house was empty.
Unfortunately there does not appear to be any red wine in the house, but I
have found a bottle of Seth Efrican white which is hitting the spot.
Upon catching up with the weeks's posts I note that you have been extremely
conspicuous by your absence, which is causing concern.

Therefore, I wonder are you okay?

No wonder there were only 470 posts today instead of the usual 1,000!

    When was this announced?

  6. Got on the receiving end and found out what it was like, basically.
Threw his rattle and fecked off.

Oddly, I hope he'll return and maybe this time alter the wit/vitriol
mixture more in favour of the former.

Ah well, all's fair in love and war. He got out of my killfile a few
weeks ago with a lot of other miscreants when my hard disk died, and, to
his credit, I had forgotten just how fucking funny he can be.

Agreed. Bear on form is a class act. Recently he's been an arse
    ache.

Hmm, this is indeed exrremely worrying, particularly as OE has none of
this thread on it whereas XANANES does (hence my posting of today).

I am genuinely sad if he has indeed fecked off.

When he's on form, he's well worth reading. When he's off on one, he's
    well worth killfiling.

The press office for Bear had released this statement...

"It's clear that the Committee has agreed that your new policy is
really an excellent plan. But in view of the doubts being expressed,
may I propose that I recall that after careful consideration, the
considered view of the Committee was that, while they considered that
the proposal met with broad approval in principle, that some of the
principles were sufficiently fundamental in principle, and some of the
considerations so complex and finely balanced in practice that in
principle it was proposed that the sensible and prudent practice would
be to submit the proposal for more detailed consideration, laying
stress on the essential continuity of the new proposal with existing
principles, the principal of the principal arguments which the
proposal proposes and propounds for their approval. In principle."

    .....allegedly.
