SWMBO bought a silver coin in a presentatioon box from a market in Kent
    earlier this week.

It has arabic [1] writing on both sides which gives no indication of it's
    origin.

The oicture on one side is a 3 pronged sword sticking up through a wreath,
and the other side has 2 blokes heads sisde by side, one of whom has
    glasses.

The presentation box is blue, and has a gold dragon / phoenix / birdy type
thing on it. Inside the case it says Treasury Department.

Anyone any idea at all about where it may be from.

    [1] it looks like arabic

After much Googling we have identified it as a 1982 600 Baht Bicentennial of
    Bangkok coin.

No idea of it's value yet though (won't be a huge amount)

Erm no, I don't come across the need to differentiate between the varied
illegible (to me) scrawlings of the Asian subcontinent as part of my
everyday life. If it isn't english or cyrillic, but a load of funny
squiggles then chances are it must be Arabic, or something similar.
