Heh. I've been in NY for the last week but I guess I'd
better check if it still works!

Looks more like slack programming on Valve's part if they were
able to buy an out-of-region version from within that region,
especially as you need to run Steam to buy.

Not strictly true.. you need steam to register but they could have
bought a boxed copy if the softeware.

You're not a HL2 fan too, are you? I'm at the last stage of Ep2, which
is a bit of a toughie atm.

Yes, we've discussed it in other threads.
The Striders? I thought it was tough until I figured
out the easy way to do it!

Ah, I must have missed them due to inordinate amounts of travel.
And? Well man, out with it!!

I didn't want to give too much away, just in case.

Striders come with two Hunters, so just mow them down
while in the car as it saves the hassle of trying to
kill them; one fast blow will finish them off. The
Striders are a bit dumb and rely on the Hunters to
pick you off as they can only "see" forward. The best
way to tackle them is to, in the best UKRM tradition,
take them from behind. Just beware that once you've
thrown the bomb at them, they will turn and shoot so
you need to be quick in swapping guns and shooting
    the bomb.

I get in the car and drive around and attack from
behind. The Strider will blissfully continue walking
to the target while you dispatch the Hunters (be
quick though as they're intelligent enough to run
for the trees and/or hide once they figure out
what you're doing!) and you can then take them
    out a well.

Ah hah. Thanks. I thought that the car might have a bit to do with it.

Nope, never had a response to my Call For Beers.

I did meet another friend while over there though,
and had to ride the F-train to Brooklyn! Scary!
