I'm sure those discs and those carriers are fine Loz, seen very little
duty. All the race bikes seem to have quite rattly AP disks but yours
did seem to have loosened off a bit since I had it. I originally put
slightly heavier shims behind the buttons, deformed them and pressed
them down and the discs were nice and tight. They only moved under
braking. You could do this again, the vernier will tell all though.

I have another set of carriers and disks, the old solid slotted iron
type. The disks are slightly warped I think but the carriers are good.
You are welcome to all the stuff I have.

If you could send those as well I'd really appreciate it. It looks
likely that my carriers are fucked beyond repair, and at 160 quid each
I'm a bit reluctant to buy new ones when a new set of complete discs
are only 436 quid. I can always swop my good disc rotors onto the new
carriers with whatever good bobbins I have.

You'll struggle to accurately measure the slots because of the
clearance between the rotor and the carrier. The best way to do it
will be to get someone to make you a gauge and then remove each bobbin
one at a time and check the fit.

Just curious, how are the bobbins attached and how do you get them off
    and on ?

    Cheers

With the discs that are fitted I just shake the handlebars and the
bobbins fall out. Ordinarily I'd have to remove a c-clip behind each
bobbin, then the shims/washers and then the bobbin itself.

Do I know anyone who can make a gauge, I wonder?

Not me because I'm away next week and don't often get near a lathe
anyway. I'm sure someone else will have a small lathe tucked away in a
garage or shed and might be bribed to spend a measly 10 minutes
turning up a small plug gauge.

Daft bugger. As it happens I'm off all next week, and I'm around most of
this weekend. And (as El Bonwick says) it'd take all of ten minutes to
    knock something up.

Give me a shout if you need to.

Thanks for the offer but the last thing I want to do on my days off is
to work any kind of machinery. Unless I'm being paid a lot of money to
    do so....
