They did a 900W angle grinder which looks similar for a tenner -
that's the one I used to bob your bike. It works well - I used an
identical one to chop big lumps out of a Land Rover chassis and it was
fine - but a bit on the heavy side. I would assume that this one
would work as well, but be heavier still.

The discs look OK - a disc is pretty much a disc, iyswim - normal
trade price wot I pay is ~40 - 50p a disc for metal cutters and
grinders. If you want/need an angle grinder and a selection of ammo,
then it isn't a bad deal - get a couple or three packs of discs, 'cos
they don't last long once you get going ...

Well spotted. Saved me a fruitless expedition.
Trouble is, one one my tasks today is to chisel a piece of flagstone to
the right thickness to let into the fireplace bottom. I'll try to use my
diamond wheel tile cutter I guess.

  7. That was my first thought when I saw the picture.

Probably good for someone, although TBH, I'm not in a great hurry for
one and thought of you lot of tortured metal artists when I saw it :)

As an aside, I have gone and bought myself a lovely cammo jacket. I
loved the way you blended into the bushes when you came down the road on
the rat and wanted that as well. Blimey, it's warm and they're doing
pukka German issue gore-tex jackets for £45.

    Yes, forty five!

There's a reason why the ranks of SOB-riding, don't have two
ha'pennies to rub together, T.W.O. MAG-alikes wear ex-forces camo gear
on bikes, as you have just discovered. It doesn't look wonderful, it
is heavy and bulky compared to Cordura or leathers - but it does the
job for fuckall dosh - and it has pockets for bottles of beer as a
    bonus.

  9. That place is going to get more business from me; I reckon I could get
fully kitted out in proper winter gear for less than £150, and you're
right about the pockets. Magnificent, they are.

Is it your first angle grinder?

You might be better buying a used one until you get some experience,
you don't want it all to go pear shaped with a brand new machine.

Buy a half-decent SOAG, get a year of experience under your belt and
then see what takes your fancy. YKIMS.

Sounds good to me, is that a current offer? If so I'll get down to
Lidle's tomorrow ASAP... Anyone know a good disc supplier... B&Q
    probably?
