Military jargon for rotary wing aviation - aka helicopter, which, according
to fixed wing aviators, don't really fly, its just that they vibrate so
much, the Earth rejects them!

 

Ah. In snowboarding/mountaineering circles they're referred to as a
"heli", which seems a sight more obvious to me.

 

That's amazingly handy. I had an email yesterday from someone
military, and I didn't understand a single one of the acronyms. And
boy do they love using acronyms.
