8:04am, waiting to turn right into Springfield Honda on Scotswood Road.

How come I've never spotted you before?

    Heh, that was me ;-)
    You're a blind ****? ;-)

I'm usually there about that time, depending on traffic from Durham,
    from 7:50 to 8:10.

    What were you in/on?

(not that road roller I take it?)

    Thought so.
At that time in the morning - probably.
Red ZX-9R going the opposite direction to you; I got a green light just
as I filtered up to the line, so I probably didn't hang around long
enough for you to notice me.
Those roadworks are a PITA, aren't they? Any idea when they're meant to
    finish?

No, I was probably just waking up as the lights changed :)
Our lady on the phones at work reckons the whole Scotswood road is
supposed to be finished by Christmas - right!

I used to go in that way, but I've found the Redheugh route is better,
except for the sitting at those lights.

Heh - yeah, those red lights last for ages.
    Christmas 2007, maybe.
You mean you used to go further along the A1, then across the Scotswood
Bridge? I suppose there's probably not much in it usually, but the
roadworks have slowed things down at that little roundabout at the
eastern end of the existing dual carriageway section, so I'd guess the
Redheugh Bridge way is definitely quicker.

Don't they just, even worse when coming out of work :-(
Looking at the state of the road, I'd agree.
It is, saves almost 5 minutes, and is about 1 mile shorter too. When
it's clear though, the Scotswood bridge is faster. Not much choice on a
Saturday though, as they close the A184 slip road over the weekend at
    the moment.
