This hotel has been recommended to me. It is in Malta. No,not that shitty
little rock in the Med but Malta in Austria, which is south of Salzburg.

The owner has a deal with http://www.bikemoversuk.co.uk/ which might suit
those who a) don't have much time and don't want to devote 4 days to
travelling to/from the area or b) those who want to get to the Eastern Alps
& Balkans without riding through Germany.

Grossglockner pass, the highest in Austria is an easy day trip. Slovenia &
Adriatic coast are in range plus loads of other Austrian passes missed by
those who stick to the Tyrol & Voralberg.

I have used bike movers uk, very good & the van driver (girl) was incredibly
    fit.

Exactly, although i doubt wessie would be bothered by the fact :)

Joking aside, they are really very good, used them a few times, on the dot,
careful & most importantly, properly insured.

Could have been embarrassing if the Luftwaffe had flown by Garmin
    satnavs during WW2

It's been a few years since I was on that road, onto Havre then the
border at Wild Horse. Watching the fuel gauge on a dirt road helps pass
the time you know. There was sod all else to see, distant stringed
    instruments provided a background.Probably.
