When I stuck the Benly onto my policy I asked Aunty Carol about the
Moroccan section - much sucking of teeth and a No followed.

    So, some enquiries later and

"As far as insurance is concerned you can buy it from the Moroccan
border once you're there for the duration of your stay in Morocco. It
only costs a few quid. There are various booths at the border control
(currency exchange - as it is illegal to take the Dirham out of the
country, you must buy it when you enter and exchange it when you
leave. It's best to exchange from Euros.) The booths next to the
currency exchange will sell you your insurance Green Card.

But insurance and V5s (not copies) are essential to get yourself into
    the country."

So that's another thing off the list.

  2. Ah that's what you're supposed to do. I thought I'd spend my few
remaining in duty free, of course the buggers won't take their own
currency - you need the almighty Euro. So I've got <fx counts> 98
    Dirham taking up room here.

The driving is fairly entertaining, a safe distance to follow any
vehicle is about 3 inches. Lots of speed traps on the motorway and the
Police appear to take catching people seriously.

To avoid all this bollocks (I've driven a Morris Minor in Stalinist
Europe - once was enough) and the risk of having the bikes half inched I
wasn't going to take the bike to Morocco. Simply lock it at the ferry
port Gibraltar [1] side and toddle over on foot, get sandy then come back.

    Easy.

[1] I wonder if this'll summon Gibraltar man?

Well, I thought the plan was actually to go to Ceuta, the Spanish
    enclave... That may possibly covered.

It's lovely. I took it to Donington and made people come and see how
lovely it was. Youngest keeps nagging for a pillion ride but I want to
get the puncture fixed and the old wheel back on first.

There doesn't seem to be details for next year, but a day return next
Thursday is 47 euros for a foot passenger, 99 euros for bike and rider.

    You called ?

Only to point out that the ferry from Gibraltar does
not take vehicles and is unreliable, there is a better
    service from Algeciras.
