  1. L plate CB1000 'The Big One' - been offered one with decent rack / box,
and 32k under its belt, for £1200.

I know the mechanicals on these are sourced from the CBR1000, so it
    should be pretty bullet proof.

Is that a reasonable price assuming it's in good nick, and are these
any good for a daily 150 mile, mainly motorway, commute?

    TIA

  2. Oh yes. Utterly bullet-proof, but they'll use more fuel than a car, and
will be bloody hard work without a fairing.

Still, if it's in fine nick, that's a damn good price. Utter bargain.

Offer him a grand and see what he says.

  3. Aye... aware the lack of fairing might be a PITA... but so is a loss of
licence, which is almost always on the cards when I'm on something
    fully faired. ;-)

As for fuel... hmm... my primary concern is cutting down on the time
I'm spending on my right PITA, 'the joys of Clackett Lane', commute.

However, 35mpg would be nice - is that expecting too much of one of
    these?
    Noted.

Ta for the advice, as ever. :)

  5. In uk.rec.motorcycles, belched forth and ejected the following:
I'd love one but offer him a grand.
