Oxford sports panniers on a Ducati GT1000

  1. 'lo all...

Has anyone here used Oxford Sports soft panniers on a GT1000 ? If so,
did you have any problems with heat from the exhaust ?

Any other recommendations on luggage (NOT Ducati branded at Ducati
prices) suitable for this bike that could be got either online or
preferably in London within a week would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,

I've tried a pair of anonymous old cheapies on mine without success. The
problem is securing the bases - that massive hole between wheel and mudguard
is an issue, unless you have the side pieces to keep the bags out of the
    gap.

I started looking for a winter bike, looking to buy later in the year, but
the right one came up and it's now my daily driver. It's a hoot. My
workplace is still a muddy building site, and I'm keeping the Duke from
    commuting duties until things improve.

Me and XTs have - how shall I say - history. I love 'em.

I've just had a quick look for photos of the Ducati to see where the
exhausts are and they seem to be in a similar place to my GSXR1000.

I spoke to Oxford an they told me to use Oxford Sprint ones
    (http://www.oxprod.com/index.php?pg=3&action=dept&id=109&pid=277&p=)
on my ZX-10R as they have heatproof material on the bottom and sides.
A trip to the TT later and they didn't catch fire.

Just used them recently on the GSXR for a trip round Scotland, and
again, they didn't burn (and neither did anything inside), despite
only being about an inch away from the exhaust.
