  1. Not fit for purpose, your contract is with the retailer so back to HG
    and ask for a refund.

What he said, HG should take them back with no bother.

Lift end with screwdriver, squirt in WD40. Repeat as necessary.

I thought about this when I fitted mine. Thing is, if that makes em come
off easily, what's to keep them on?

Remove with WD40 or similar. Fit with hairspray - seriously.
You may be able to steal this from your SO, just make sure they're not
    watching ;-)

Hmmm, fair point. Not sure she has any atm, and it's somewhat academic
since mine are fitted, but I shall bear it in mind

The WD40 evaporates leaving the rubber in contact with the bar which
is often enough to hold them in place if they're tight grips.

The heated ones I had needed gluing and lockwiring in place mind you.

Had a google for any issues with hotgrips as mine have died on me, the
little black box has given up the ghost, volts in with no volts out
although the little LED lights up, and noted that the opinion on oxford
customer service was from great to shite.

The warranty card they supply is a bit strange, they supply a glue to
permanently fix the grips to the bars and then in the warranty expect
you to return the entire assembly; grips, box and wires when making a
claim. Also they state that the warranty card must be sent to them
within seven days of purchase which for a xmas pressie is a bit rich.

They were purchased from HG so should I return them to base or am I on
my own here as they broke outside of the 30 stat days.

I have contacted oxford about the grips malfunctioning and was wondering
what sort of response I should expect, anyone got any recent experience?

    TIA

Right-o, shall do, however I am not keen on trying to remove the grips
as they were a tight fit to begin with and reckon it would damage them.

If it comes to it that is the option however I spoke with the chaps in
HG who have agreed to contact Oxford for advice. I don't really want to
have to dismantle the wiring etc seeing as the control box could be sent
    off on its own.
