Not that much though. I've got... 38p in my pocket. How's that?

    Don't bother.

I've not been to a decent funeral for a while and I've never been to a
    PVS turning off either.

Having said that, my Guzzi's not been right since....

  5. Possible concussion? Get yourself (get driven) down to the A&E
immediately. Any head injury that makes you feel like shit should be
    taken seriously.

  6. Don't be daft. It'll cost you nothing to find out the good news, but if
it's worse than you think, hospital is a good place to be.

There are degrees of concussion. ****, you might even have a slight
    fracture for all you know.

I feel fine now. Headache is all but gone, and haven't felt sicky since
I ate at about 7-30. I'll be chucking a couple of paracetamol down my
neck in a short while and going to sleep.

I knew it wasn't as bad as some people thought. I've hurt myself enough
times over the years to know what's bad and what's not worth bothering
    with, this was the latter.

I'm used to nanny wimpering from lots of folk here, but I expected
    better from you, Grimly.

  13. [advice re bang on head and hospital]
So showing concern for people and suggesting - on indirect evidence of
the injury - that people go to hospital is nanny wimpering is it? And
there was me just trying to be a decent, friendly sort of chap.

I expect Grimly is speaking from experience in making the comment he
    did. He usually does.

I replied that he ought to think about it.

Lozzo's a hardy type, and he's had more than his fair share of medical
attention. I just thought that if it was remarkable enough for him to
post about, then it might be serious. If it had been some
    hypochondriac, I'd have said nothing.

I posted cos I thought someone could do with a laugh at my expense. It
was a remarkably daft thing to do, and luckily I came out of it ok.
Living in this house has great advantages, Pip and Elly are well clued
up at spotting anything unusual about me, so had I been showing signs of
concussion I'd have had no choice but to go to hospital. Elly certainly
wouldn't have let me go to work on the bike today if I wasn't OK to ride
    in the conditions.

  17. Head injury and chest pains are the two areas where you'll find medical
opinion is with me on this. I speak from direct experience.
If he'd merely broken his arm or cut off his ear, I'd have told him to
take an aspirin and ring me in the morning.

I've taken many bangs to my head, some leading to concussion, others
not. I'm also well versed in a variety of chest pains, having suffered
two heart attacks when I was younger, and a major chest infection that
hospitalised me a couple of years ago this month.
