I'm after some overboots to prevent my boots getting soggy and then my
    toes getting cold.

The boots they're going over are the standard size 9 Para type boots.

    Any recommendations?

  2. Can you get old-fashioned galoshes these days? They'll solve the wter
problem and the extra layer should help with the cold.

I've got some rigger boots which I bought from a pikey shoe shop in
Liverpool. Fur lined and black they are and quite cosy. I've had them ten
years now and they're still good. Couple them with woolly socks or wet suit
socks and you'll be as warm as a warm thing.

I quite rate my Furygans - just for keeping the wet out as they offer no
    insulation at all.
