See if I can make mine as interesting as Big Ed did about what He and Redshad did on Labor day and stuff. Though Redshad did contribute some to the report to help Ed remember everything. Also I wanted to make mine as detailed and as interesting as BrianW's, report of his Labor day outings. ---Our big ride to Jefferson started at an old Exxon/''country Store'' out on 59South, suppose to meet the bunch at 9am. Hjay and I usually are pretty well on time, but we were some late, but we still beat everybody. GuyW.&Sissie, rode up at 920, the others didnt and by 930 we rode away. He said the Victory is so cold natured, plus the ''Dog hid my Helmet', and my ''sun glasses'' that's why they were late. <g> GuyW, said you lead , I am still practicing riding twoUp on the 02-1700-Victory Bike. When we got to Atlanta, we got on 43south. Nice ride and it was cool, with an overcast, through there, towards Jefferson. We come to a 4 Way Redlight,at Smithville, we both stop. I said, '''yall okay, need to rest, or ''tinkle'' or anything? Nah we're okay everyone said. I told em' Jefferson was a little further, but not too far. We get there and slowly ride thru the main street of the Little antique popular town. We rode slow to show off our big Motorsikels and our goodlooking gals. We get to the redlight, to turn where Auntie Skinnerds is. We pull up, and the Gals get off, and we back em into the declined brick pavement to the curb. We're the only ones parked in front of Aunties Place. On most any weekend day, there's usually 20 Bikes at this area. And more parked scattered thru out the old streets. But we are early, to an extent. We get off, and walk around. We go to see the Oldest Hotel in Texas, that's never been closed. President Useless S.Grant stayed there once. So did Lady Bird Johnson. We walk around and back to Auntie Skinnerds Bar and Resturant. We had heard and noticed Bikes starting to congregate there, so we went in and got a table. First drank some ice tea, and eventually ordered something healthy, because Hjay, and GuyW and Sissie, are watching what they eat here lately. They ordered soup and salad, and I did too. I wanted to act like I needed to eat healty, so I ordered two bowls of soup, and two salads. The meal hit the spot with all of us. We saw two other couples that we know, and ask LB to take a picture of the four of us, at the table in the famous Bike place. A young man at the bar, stopped us as we were leaving, and it turned out to be a friend of our Son, Bubba. Bubba told him yestereday that his Biker Parents were riding way down to Jefferson too, and for him to look for'em. he did, and he found us. It's about 2 pm now, and as we go outside, we assess the weather, and the forcast of 50% chance it wont rain, looks more like 50% chance that it will, now, because it's getting fairly dark toward TKana. As we're in the process of mouting our bikes. You know the Gals are a little bit slower, and so 4th, well a bunch harley riders are pulling out from the curb, and 4 of them get to the redlight. But the 5th one, a Gal rider, dropped her big old harley. GuyW, Don and Me, assist her as quick as possible. She was still standing, and struugling to pick it back up. We get it upRight, and she dsyd ''wait a minute I'm not quite balanced''. Big Old GuyW held on till she got ready, and she managed to wobble away, and got going pretty good and joined her buddies. GuyW burned his had pretty good on her pipes. So she must have been sitting there running longer than we knew. We believed the Harley Bike was too much for her, but she apparantly rode it down to Jefferson from somewhere. By the time one of the other Bikers turned around and came back we had her going. We think she let it die on her, as she pulled out from the declined area at the curb. When it died, it got really heavy for her. We three bikes rode back home and saw puddles of rain water, but never got to us. It was a fun ride, and we were tired from such a ride down south to Jefferson Texas, on Labor Day 2007. The first Labor day officially, was in 1892, DidJa know that? sincerely yours, B. Jay Kana
--The Lou-ee-gee said to Bjay: ‘‘Bjay,Good to see a good report from you!. Did you need to jump that Valk off? (...louie) '''Nah, Louie, I rode it, I didnt trailer it''. Although as far as it is down to Jefferson, we sho'nuff thought about it, but declined because our friends were riding theirs.. (RNbigGrin)------------------------------
