We're not allowed to sit in each other's chairs.

"If you have a problem with your chair, please let me know rather than
    taking someone else's chair.

Each chair is set up for individual use and changing chairs impacts on
the person for whom the chair has been adjusted to suit."

So a game of Musical Chairs is out, then?

    Not strictly speaking.

So, let's imagine you want to talk to somebody on the other side of the
office, well you can't sit in a nearby chair, can you? Think of the
danger. You'd better wheel your own chair across the office...

Have you had your chair set-up correctly by a qualified person?
When was the last time this was done? Does it need recalibrating?
Can each chair be identified so that you know whose chair it
is, when it was last calibrated and when the next calibration
    is due?

All important questions that you should be asking...

Of course, no visitor can sit down until they've had their chair
inspected and adjusted properly, and safely.

The most important question is "Who's been sitting in *my* chair?".

To be fair, it winds me up no end when people nick my chair; I always
have to set it up so it suits my back, and this varies from chair to
chair, so when some clever sod comes and changes it it then takes me
ages to get it "right" again.[/QUOTE]

So usenet isn't your fault, but TOG's Health & Safety directives are.
That's good then - the equilibrium has been restored.

If the person has a back injury/bad back they might have a different
type of chair. As the company has provided one of these for me as part
of my "return to work" stuff, I'd imagine there'll be some sort of H&S
issue if it was repeatedly unavailable.

Nicely, the company has avoided this issue by providing enough chairs
for everyone else in the first place.

    Simple solution,

Companies should just fix the staff into the chairs at the start of a shift,
and let them put at the end.

Complaining about the very bad flow of qi, according to feng shui standards,
    helps driving them mad.

It fucking winds me right up when some **** nicks my stapler.

Happened this week, so I go fucking postal, full on red faced frothing
    at the mouth.

MD then announced he'd borrowed it...

  13. But what if people need to take a dump during the day. Or are you suggesting
everyone should be supplied with commodes?

You need anger management courses. When you've found a good one let me

Simply cut a hole in the chair and mount it on wheels, said chair could
then be positioned over a suitable hole to the gratification of all
    concerned.
