....I just know that I can't be the only person 'round here that has
bopped a conker... boy are they loud when they hit your helmet or
what? Fair brings tears to your eyes... Pretty shocking when they hit
    your head protection too...

    guffaw!

Took the missus out for dinner tonight but I doubt there's much chance
of me bopping a conker. Still, I live in hope.

Not only a peril for the bonce, but for the wheels as well. The nice soft
outer squidgy bits would make for good road lubrication, so watch out both
    above and below :-S

The acorns were dropping a month ago. So I parked this bloke in his
wheelchair out of the sun under the shade of a good old spreading oak
tree and spent the next hour having fun videoing the local wildlife.

He was quite philosophic about it all really.

  6. Amen to that brother! Ran over one last Sunday for the first time in 30
years of biking. And if it's another 30 years before I hit another one, that
    will suit me just fine.....

I got one right in the middle of the forehead-part of my lid. I was
going round a corner and saw it drop from the tree. I was a newbie then
and I was concentrating on the road, travelling flat out at 30mph of
    course.

I didn't have enough time/skill/forethought to avoid it and it splatted.
Yes, it was loud, but it also gave me an appreciation of how good
helmets are as it didn't hurt a bit.

Left a green splat on my lid though.

Try it at 60-ish mph... and of course you're looking at the road (or
at least I hope you are...) middle part of the forehead... kinda like
the toast always falling butter side down... as someone else so
eloquently put it - What the f***?

Oh, and if I remember correctly, the water pistols melted... ;-)

And ps: How is Rob The Rascal? Still Exstatic I hope ;-) ...

    Regards.....
