My first efforts with one of my pressies today. A slide/negative scanner. A two stroke shot for Lozzo - RD? well over at Hartland Quay April 1984. Port Erin sunset. Yes I know I got the exposure wrong, but it really did look a bit like that. Taken from the bedroom window of our digs on the sea front during TT week 1984. Anyway, I quite like the artistic effect achieved. Note to self: clean the slides properly first and experiment with higher dpi next time. http://www.flickr.com/photos/21676903@N06/ -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
Pete Fisher says... That's an RD alright, and an early 250 or 350[1] A or B at that. Only the A and B had the caliper in front of the fork leg. [1] 8 fins on the barrels, 400s had 9 -- Lozzo Triumph Daytona 955i SE Suzuki SV650 K3 Honda CBR600 F-W Yamaha SR250 SpazzTrakka Suzuki GSX-R750L
Hmm, green plate (though the colour is not brilliant), so logically a 250. They used to ride all sorts of machines in the days before it was easy to turn a crosser in to a supermoto. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
In communiqué <1i8tc97.8k6ro51p4law2N%>, Indeed. Particularly given the tyres available at the time and the chilliness of a typical April day in Devon. An early outing by a several times NHCA champion I think. Note the strategically placed long left leg with boot hovering by the front wheel spindle. It's fun to look at these old slides again. ICBA to get out projector/screen or look in to little viewers. Must dig out some ancient shots from Darley Moor hairpin in the days of Itoms. -- +-------------------------------------------------------------+ | Pete Fisher at Home: | | Voxan Roadster Gilera Nordwest Yamaha WR250Z | | Gilera GFR * 2 Moto Morini 2C/375 | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
Pete Fisher says... Th rear looks like the type of thing my mate used to throw my way - Dunlop KR124[1] intermediates [1] I think they were 124s -- Lozzo Triumph Daytona 955i SE Suzuki SV650 K3 Honda CBR600 F-W Yamaha SR250 SpazzTrakka Suzuki GSX-R750L
Every possibility. I used to race the Rotarini on those a few years later. The fashionable hill climb tyres mid-eighties were Michelin S41/M45 in PZ4 compound or PV11?? The Older Gentleman typed: Ooh - a Marina Estate! I had one of those. Not in brown, though. Mine was red.
Rich B says... Don't laugh, I've had two of them. One Sandglow[1] and one dark blue. The Sandglow one was my dad's old piece of shit 1.8 manual that floated all over the road due to seriously fucked suspension. The dark blue one was a much earlier 1.8 Auto with a TC head and carbs - it was one of the fastest accelerating cars I'd ever owned, but would not stop or go round corners. Fucking huge boots on them, I used to sleep in mine quite often. [1] fancy name for beige -- Lozzo Triumph Daytona 955i SE Suzuki SV650 K3 Honda CBR600 F-W Yamaha SR250 SpazzTrakka Suzuki GSX-R750L
