Ain't that the truth - & it's not just tables. The downside of SO
owning a cafe is I now have a steady stream of broken chairs coming
home for repair. The last three weeks have seen two spindly wooden ones
that needed gluing & screwing, & two metal-framed ones that have had
the MIG working harder than it's used to.

No, it's more 'town centre' than 'truck stop'. Lots & lots of fat
builders though, & old people who smell of wee. I suspect the ammonia
    may be rotting the wood.

Just don't do what the local fpubby did and repair folding chairs'
pivots with ally pop-rivets. The collapse again shortly afterwards!

  5. I used to know (but not buy things from) an 'antique' dealer who had a
habit of 'restoring' furniture by reworking it, staining it, knocking it
about a bit and drilling small holes in it - holes to be filled
immediately with not-quite-but-almost matching Plastic Wood.

They were in the main hall of a secondary fpubby which was being used by
the Vampire Brigade during a donor session. I sat on the chair which
promptly collapsed. At a guess I'd say they were made in the 80s and
many are well past their "Skip by" date.

Can't be mine, it's still in the corner of my shed (and it works). I'm
    nothing if not honest.

Not smashed by cafe-room brawls then? How disappointing.

  17. I hadn't noticed the lack of them when I clicked on it and Agent/FireFox
took me to it straight away. Probably more to do with FireFox.
