OT XP TCPIP/ICS Q

Good point that. My work laptop is normally joined to the domain at
work but I have a simple workgroup at home.

Whenever I connect it and try to access a network resource of any type
it'll take fucking ages to work out that it isn't actually on the
domain any more but that it can still connect to stuff. Never could
work out how to cure that, but it works, albeit slowly.

Is the NIC in the laptop and the hub both 10/100M half/full duplex auto
sensing? If so, I be they can't make up their minds as it were. Try
locking the laptop to 10M half duplex sto start and see if that improves
things, then go up in stages to 100M full if possible

No, but: have you tried a pathping (assuming the box with the problem is
Win2k or XP)
