The latest versions got too many annoying bugs, Colins gone walkabouts
    and isn't replying to emails.

    I think I'll go back to V 1.17.bla.bla.

Even with bugs, Xananews is *miles* ahead of OEQ.

Hmm, good point and even if there are some sane people here it gives us
the opportunity to argue about something for the sake of it ;)

Christofire banged the rocks together and they said :
    Got the latest version.

The "button bar" along the top, doesn't matter what size I set the
buttons to I always get large icon pictures in a small space, i.e. they
are drawn half over the next row down (the search bar in the default
    case)

And the one that does it for me, quite often after I've read a load of
posts, they appear again, unread, the next time I run it. This makes it
    pretty unusable really.

Maybe it only happens the way I use it, I read a hundred or so posts
and thats it until the next day. I don't "mark all as read".

I do however delete all messages over 7 days old from the messagebase
management screen. I do that about every 2~3 weeks.

I am. It's Tunku that is behind the times.

I've got Xnews/2006.03.14. Your headers show the same version as Tunku.

He (and I) are on the last stable release.
Which isn't the latest beta according to the website.
    I know.

Oh, so it isn't. I only got the beta because the HDD on my laptop went
tits-up and usenet bollocks is not something I back up. I can't recall
noticing any difference in look or performance. The version in use on the
laptop before would've been whatever was current when it was purchased in
2002. The main reason I like Xnews is that it is not a registered
application so I when my lad visits I can load the Xnews folder to a USB
stick and hot swap between desktop & laptop with message count etc intact.

If I were sane, which I may or may not be, I wouldn't be on here in the
    first place.
