I laughed a little *at* it, but I don't think that was the director's
    intention.
er, no. Think I saw a few of them during the summer holidays.

Saturday mornings in summer; it was Flash Gordon followed by Champion the
Wonder Horse or The Flashing Blade.

It might be one of those "except in NI" things.

Well, Flash Gordon (and, IIRC, Buck Rogers) was on weekday early evenings in
the 70s in NI. Not sure, but I think it might have been sometime between 5
    and 6 o'clock.

    could be.
that's definitely the time I remember, and yes, Buck Rogers too, but it
would definitely have been the 80s, as I was at BGS at the time.
Probably it was just on every day for a decade or so.

    "The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe".

Coincidentally, I was listening to the CD of the music[1] from that
    only yesterday.

    [1] Roger Mellin Orchestra.

oh not at all - I do easy listening. I particularly like this because
    it's evocative of my childhood.

The "sad" bassline that's a motif throughout the various themes is
still one of my all-time favourites, right up there with the one from
    "Police and Thieves".

Well, the Film Actor's Guild get the piss ripped good and proper, too.
Sean features in it, as does Alec Baldwin.
