Um, that's prolly amongst the best of them.
But I dunno what the grumbling's about.
I've read most of his stuff and simply enjoyed it. Some better than others -
yeah sure that's inevitable innit? But even the worst are better than most
    other stuff.

Hmm, "Pyramids" was the first Pratchett book I read when, after years of
peer pressure -- "Oh God, it's the funniest thing, /ever/", "if you liked
HHG2TG", etc. -- and I did find it most amusing and laughed out loud on
    many an occasion.

However, I couldn't help but feel that there was an attempt to duplicate
Douglas Adams' (far less prolific) writing style and, for some perverse
reason, that spoiled it a little for me despite being (or more likely,
because I'm) a lifelong Adams fan.

I didn't read another Pratchett for quite some time until someone lent me
"Only You Can Save Mankind" which was quite funny.

Suze (who is a fan) lent me "The Last Continent" whilst on 'oliday. Ho
hum. I found it mildly amusing. Same old Discworld stuff just in a new
    setting.

Last year I read "Thief of Time". Hmm. Amusing. New setting, similar
    stuff.
Quite. 'cept for the teenager reference, like.

Actually, thinking about it, I disagree ('cept still for the teenager
reference...) as he's made a small, or more likely large, fortune out of
writing (mostly) about a silly place that he invented. And people buy it.
I'd say that was a stroke of genius.
