Just back from my summer hols.
Had a wonderful time at the Nurburgring.
Got the lap time down to a 9.31 which isn't bad for a stock mini cooper s.
On Sunday afternoon when returning to Eddies I spotted a lonely looking
biker wandering from Adenau to Bredischeid, stopped to see if help was
required, it was, he'd thrown his chain on the track.
Gave him a lift back to his mates at the car park at the main gate, turns
out he was a rider for Phase One endurance team.
Had a nice chat in the car and he was eternally great for the transport.
Saturday and Sunday were pretty busy with a fair few stoppages and a
fatality, got some great laps in on Monday when all the tourists had pissed
    off home.
Spent three days there then drove down to a mates villa in Bargemon, lovely
roads around that part of the world, if you get a chance then pay a visit to
the Gorges du Verdon, its known as the French grand canyon and has some
    spectacular scenery.
Food, wine and weather was as great as it always is.
Came back with a couple of cases of Rosé, which is lovely in this weather
    straight from the fridge.
And its true - you do meet the nicest people on Honda's.
Sat waiting for the ferry home at Boulogne and had a chat with a bloke on a
    Pan Euro - nice chap.
Back to work today ........ great !

Didn't fancy doing 2,500 miles in 7 days on the VFR400 [1], I want to stay
virile and not sterilise my nads.

Plus - I'd already organised to go with some other chaps from Mini2.com

ukrmrm take note - great climbing too, but then - you probably knew that
    already.

[1] which needs fork seals, pads and a general cervix... (one of those
    finding time things.....)

    Tiz ze German one ya.
I previously had an 850 and a 1275GT though, in my yoof. They made way for
    the VFR400 though.

Actually, a sizeable contigent[0] of ukrmrm will be climbing in France
this summer, assuming collective digits are extracted in time.

Not in the Gorges du Verdon, mind, but we're not in a position to be picky.

    [0] Two.

You and Andy, eh? Who, amazingly, *still* seems to be busy!

Frankly, I'm amazed that we're getting away with it. Especially when you
consider that we're being allowed to take motorcycles, and the OHs and
little 'un are going in the support vehicle.
Indeed. In fact, it looks like he might have to go to work *every* day
    this week!

    Mick says...
Still technically own a 1971 Mk3 Cooper S. I never did get round to
    scrapping it properly.

    I suspect it already has.
Ah - while he might have to *go* to work, that doesn't necessarily mean
that he has work to do while he's at work. IYSWIM.

Crikey, that quick, eh? Tricky coves, women.
In that case, why isn't he posting via EddieGateway?

Oh, yes. But I don't think I'd say that to their faces.

Still, I think we're getting the best of the deal.
I think he was going to, but started writing a long-winded book review
(the review was long-winded, not the books; although the books might
have been, I don't know), then decided it had turned out like an O-level
English Literature essay and gave up the whole idea as a bad job.

Anyway, I think he got side-tracked by his boss's newly-certified kit car.
