was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
It's not that nice, and in summer it's positively awful ...

You don't honestly think US Immigration would let Des past the gate do you.

In a sense then I suppose that a man's sexual prowess is truly measured

I did wonder that (hence IIRC) either way, total population is still
less than that of greater London. Sounds like a bargain to me

Iraq. Even people who live in holes in the ground have 3/4 million knocking
    around in loose change.

    <LOL!>

Just how did he anticipate getting it (or, for that matter, himself) out
    of the place?

Perhaps he could have fashioned clothing and a fake beard from it...

Did you see the size of the trunk? it was half empty. He had already handed

  18. But how long were you on holiday for? Hols to Oz are usually longer
than hols anywhere else, so you actually get *time* to relax.

That, and the pace of life and sun and beer, of course.

  19. We're looking at Chicago or Pasedena for next year, hopefully. Oh, and
    there's a chance of a job in Socorro, New Mexico, pop. 9,000 : "it's
got a couple of decent restaurants and a one screen cinema." Ahem.

Failing that, I'd love to live/work in Paris, but only for a year or
so. Or Berlin, but only in the summer. Or Zagreb. Or Bratislava.

'Working' in somewhere like Sydney or San Fran or Singapore would just
seem like I was *really* wasting each and every day spent in an
    office.

  20. 1 week added on to 3 weeks of work.
Well it was (their) summer when I was there which was a pleasant
    contrast to our winter.
