Can one cut a 15mm copper pipe with a hacksaw, or does one need to get a
proper pipe cutter to get the rounded finish and thus ensure
    water does not piss everywhere?

If it needs a pipe cutter, does anyone know if the Focus/B&Q will do this
for me? I have two pipes that need cutting and don't really want to spend
£15 on a pipe cutter for just one job.

Alternatively, anyone in Oxfordshire happen to have a pipe cutter I can use?
    :)

  2. depends on what fitting the cut end is going into... but generally a
clean cut with a hacksaw will suffice IME.
They won't do it for you. The Plumb Centre might. but then again...
I'm in South bucks, but could probably borrow one of my old man (mine
    kit is still oop norf).

Oh, and don't forget the PTFE tape... plenty of it...

Yes, hacksaw it through, then file the edge neat/square.

Hacksaw with a new blade is fine if you've got a steady hand and can
keep a straight line. Copper is soft stuff and the saw will go
    through it easily.

Is it a new bit of pipe or in-situe? If it's new, pop it in a vice to
cut it, but don't do up the vice too tight or you'll oval the pip.

Finish it off with a fine file to remove the sharp edges.

I'm quite attached to my sharp edges. Take them off and I'll end up
    as blunt as burnt.

Not me eyebrows, ye bastid. More sandy than coppery these days, I'll
give you - but if I keep plucking them grey ones I'll be fine.
