    Camera-minded folks....

After having looked in depth on various sites & checked their reviews, etc,
I think I`m gonna take the plunge and update my current Digi cam (Fuji
Finepix 2600 Zoom) to the above mentioned. I have compared the Optio S with
its newer version, the S4, but there doesn`t seem to be much in them, apart
from more pixels, obviously, and I can cope with small buttons, etc that
people have complained about on the Optio S.
Any advice you photographers have for me? I`m not looking to be a female
David Bailey, but I DO like my gadgets & will be trying out all the features
on it at some point, if only to have a play around, and I`m also looking for
decent, sharp pics, and of course, in the case of all gadgets, size DOES
matter, ie the smaller the better!
Is anyone able to comment on the Casio Exilim Z4, as a comparison as well?
So far, I have priced the Pentax S and S4 on Amazon at £174 & £194,
respectively, and the Casio is a helluva lot more, at £254... (I looked on
the Pixmania site, but the many terrible reviews put me off completely, so I
don`t mind paying a little bit more for peace of mind..)

    cheers all

PS; anyone interested in buying my Fuji? Got the full box, complete with all
manuals, charger, batteries, 16mb SM card and USB cable, along with CD.
    Offers accepted.

I can't comment on the above selection but I would suggest you have
a look at www.dpreview.com. Goto the Buying Guide / Side by side
option and select all the cameras you're interested in. This
gives a very good comparison of all the features.

I wouldn't touch Pixmania eihter. I've recently bought a Canon
Powershot A75 from www.pixel-flash.com and I'm very pleased with.
It was less than £200. Others hearabouts have it's bigger brother,
    the A80.

The main advantage for me is that it takes standard AA batteries
and a good set of 1800Nimh or better will last ages. Keep a set
of standard AAs for emergencies when you get click-happy.
Unfortunately not, due to A75 arrival. Stick it in eBay )

I have an Optio S. I bought it last June, and I'm very happy with it.
It won the best in category in a digital camera magazine group test
the month it came out, and it was second placed to the iPod in the
Gadget of the Year thing, in T3 (or was it somewhere else?).

Anyway, it's very well built, and it works well enough for a
point-and-click duffer like me. I use the black and white mode for
taking pictures of people, and some of the results are superb.

    In summary: recommended.
