I sem to remember someone posting details of a place to repair PDAs on
here months back. Can anyone remember it or point me towards somewhere
reliable that can do repairs??

Jesus. I've _never_ broken a Palm, and mine has been severely abused
recently (dropped into the bottom of freezers, thrown around in a kit
bag etc).

 

It started playing up on occasional basis and now it just doesnt want
to play at all. I`ve done a full hard reset and it boots and goes to
the screen where you calibrate the pointer and it just goeson and on
and never works. Palm want £85 to repair it!

 

Ahh, yes. I've heard of this problem before.

Assuming you find somewhere cheap to get the parts, it's a relatively
easy fix.

Just found a place selling the digitizer in the States for USD45:

Cheapest I have found is $85 - probably not worth doing so I`m going
to get a new one. I was talking about it at work and found a place I
can get them at cost price!!! (Funnily enough!).
So next question - which one to go for? I`m looking at the Palm
Tungsten TE or possibly the Sony TJ35
Anyone got any recommendations? I dont want one too flash but I being
able to play MP3s would be goof (I know the palm needs an expansion
card to do it)
