OT : Paging the Tom Tomisti - Odd One.

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Brownz \(Mobile\), Mar 30, 2007.

  1. Grimly's post got me thinking that I must wander down and have a look at the
    Submarine Museum again.
I punched it in to the Tom Tom to see what route it suggested and got the
    "No Route Found" response.
Is it just mine, or does your tom tom do this as well ?

Mine can do it - and that's the worlds most ancient Tom Tom.
I couldn't find it by the bloody useless half-postcode, half-
streetname thing but I could by doing gosport -> haslar road.

FWIW I've never seen it tell me it couldn't do a route to anywhere
that I could find in the annoying lookup thing.

  5. I can get close but not navigate to the road, postcode or POI created on the
    map.

    And ...

Google maps can't handle it either.

"We could not calculate driving directions between ox12 0py and Haslar Jetty
Rd, Gosport, PO12 2AS (The Royal Navy Submarine Museum)
    @50.788126,-1.119658."

I think they use the same teleatlas mapping.

    Odderer and odderer !

Garmin's MapSource appears to be able to get me there.

Mio 168 PDA with Tom Tom gave exactly same results, 'no route found' when I
tried it with postcode only. Going for Gosport, Haslar road was OK, but no
house numbers, so chose 'anywhere' and found route easily.

No idea what to do to 'fix' it. ;)

  10. Ho Hum , odd - something I'll have to live with then.

I would have thought that the latest maps on my TTG would be the same as
    those on your device.

I bought the seemless street level maps of western europe last year.

  15. TBH, I didn't check but put the postcodes in and it came up with a
route, which is more than 'is bleedin' TomTom.

I've had it a couple of times, but it's very, very rare. The last time
it was just after I'd launched the program, and after waiting a few
secs and trying it again it worked fine.
