Works for me when the kids/SWMBO kicks off in the car/plane [1]. Adapt as
necessary with earplug STYLE headphones.

I would buy Sennheiser.

 

Noise-cancelling headphones rock for plane travel. I've got a pair of
cheap-ish Sony ones for taking abroad.

Bose stuff is generally regarded as overpriced tat, mind.

I bought Grado

 

I've got a pair of Sennheiser I bought in 1979 in Germany.
They still sound like they out perform any others I tried up to £200.

Seriously good kit.
