The film, has, according, to my Mum, has just been finished.

In a conversation recently, she mentioned that my sister inlaw has just
organized an end of production party for Digital Domain (special fx creators for
    the film)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0343818/combined

This is one of my all time favourite sci fi stories, and I really, really hope
    it is not a POS.

Looking at their "website" gives me a bad feeling:

The original was a collection of short stories by Asimov but the two
trailers I've seen don't seem to be following the storyline from any of
them I can remember. The trailers show Wil Smith as a cop warning about
an impending Robot war as they seem to be able to get round the three
laws. There are clips of massed ranks of Robots invading and destroying
a Police station and killing people everywhere - Isaac Asimov didn't
write that in his Robot series.

Bit of a mis-leading title I think. Given that the book is a
collection of short stories and they've filmed one.

A work colleague's just mentioned it. Will Smith, FFS.

I suppose the sequel will be "II, Robot".

well, "adapted" one - the one about the production-line fault, by the
    looks of it.

If they actually made a verbatim film-adaptation of the stories, it'd
    be shitenhausen.
