Blown up centres: http://hayn.gotadsl.co.uk/opt.jpg <-- They have
either purposely put in a rainbow effect in the middle, or the images
are compressed at such a low rate that all the colours are bleeding.
While the "average" colour would appear to be similar, it's not a very
accurate, http://hayn.gotadsl.co.uk/op2.jpg shows just how sloppy it
    is.

Verdict: It works, but it's not done very well here.

FFS, it's not even 9am yet.

I'm glad you've cleared that up, 'cos even with the mask on, I thought
    the colours were different.

It's blue, or at least blue is what I've been led to believe all these
years. Who's to say that blue isn't pink in someone elses world?

I think the bits you C&Pd would look a lot more similar if you trimmed
say 10% of the edges off.
Ah, but *how* different? Without the mask they look completely
different, with the mask just a little bit different.

Still demonstrates the effect surrounding things have on our colour
    perception.

Anyone want to paint the surrounds of some traffic lights? Colour to be
chosen after some careful experimentation <eg>
