  1. When benchpressing adjust your grip before lifiting off of the stand, not
after, as a 40kg barbell dropping on to your stomach is not pleasant.
Thankfully missed my ribs though, which was nice.

    Is this really an answer?

  7. No, that would be another question. What I meant was can/should "QED" be
used in the context of a question? I've always understood it to be an
abbreviation for a phrase that suggests something has been proven in which
case the ? succeeding it would be uncesessary.

Anyway, my brain hurts now as well as my abdomen so I'm going to bed.

QED = quod erat demonstrandum (IIRC) = which has been demonstrated

I *think* that *techincally [1] it means 'Which *was* to be
    demonstrated' so correct usage:

You ask me to make a fool of myself
I oblige and tag QED on the end.

    STBVMC[2]

[1] Dangerous ground for me with some of the English experts here
[2] I stand to be very much corrected.

Well yes, quod erat demonstrandum is latin, and I *think* the literal
translation is which *was*, but if my interpretation of the tense is
right is another (English) matter IYSWIM.

In year 1, we all did a foreign language. In year 2, those who were
good at it, had Latin added (teacher was sadistic and unhelpful and I
did not do well). In year 3, those few considered too incompetent
and/or bolshy, got kicked out again - I scored on both counts and was
the only one so kicked. I did art instead, which the timetable had not
previously allowed, and at which I was much better. So I won all
    round.
