At 9am this morning I tendered my resignation at my place of work.

Previously, apart from a couple of short term contracts, I have been made
    redundant.

    New job starts next month.

Unfortunately, unlike Lozzo, the fuckers have not put me on gardening
    leave.

    It feels quite good.

  2. At 9:01 this morning I desperately wanted to do the same. Might as well
screw the buggers for a few more shekels till the weather improves, though.
Been there, done that - luckily, always had something else to go to.
    Splendid. Good luck with it.

I've resigned from all my previous permanent jobs except one. I've
    never been made redundant.
    good luck.

Which leaves the sack for the "except one".

Excellent. I get to look at you as if I've trod in something and get
    jokes in Latin [1].

Although it does mean I'm only a hack; not so keen on that.

[1] My Latin master also taught English and would regularly have
exercises entitled "Get rid of Got". "I am what I am, here today.."

that's two "look at me, I know Latin" threads going at once now - well
    done.

    Good for you.
    Even better!
Arse, well you can knock up a quick handover then play solitaire for a few
    weeks :)
    Does, doesn't it. Good luck.

  12. Mine was when I read my emails this morning where I got a load of blame
dumped on my team for a screwup by someone else..

Just because it says "Support" on the can doesn't mean that all the
crap that happens is our fault.

Similar clients. No waking night shifts though. Smaller, in community
groups rather than all on one site. Mixed sex groups, which adds a new
    dimension....

Three times I've resigned from a position and within 6 months the
bastards have been looking for volunteers. I'm convinced I'm not lucky
enough to ever get a pay off.

Heh, I came close to leaving Xerox about 18 months before they made me
redundant. It was mainly the longer commute to Stroud that meant I stuck it
out at Xerox[1]. Good job too as the fuckers gave me the equivalent of 2
year's net pay when showing me the door.

[1] oh, and maybe the prospect of actually working
