I have a Brother 2070N printer on my home network which works fine except
my new laptop won't install it.

It can see the internal print server but doesn't see the actual printer.

All the other computers in the house can see it and print quite happily.
I can't work out its address \\server\myprinter from the settings on the
other computers and my guesses have - unsurprisingly - not worked.

    Any ideas?

    In
you can find the address by pinging the name of the print server

I'm guessing you're using Vista so try and look at the firewalling

I know the IP address and I can 'see' the server just not the printer.
How do I ping the server?

XP - I've turned off all the software firewalls (XP's own and Norton) and
it still shows the server but no printer.
