Migrating to Orange so the ol' 9110 Communicator is heading for eBay.

So Sony E. P900 or Handspring Treo 600??

Have the Treo 600 since last week, and have to say it's very neat.
Compared to the P800 (haven't seen the P900 up close, I think it's
    better in size and function.

Got a P900. Its lighter than an xda (which is all I've been able to compare
it to) and does the job rather jolly well..... But if you don't use the gay
purse-style carry case the touch screen gets scratched rather jolly
    quickly....

And if you are pissed and try to use your fingers instead of the prodding
stick, the icons are so small you invariably start the wrong feature.

And the voice recognition can be a bit sensitive.

And it only comes with a 32meg memory stick so you can't save too many mp3s
on it unless you spend a bit more.

    But apart from that.......

I've had a P900 since November and haven't used any carry case or cover and my
screen is still perfect. Of course the £6 writeshield screen protector may
have summat to do with it. :)

And IMO the P900 is a better phone than the Treo600.

Due to the limitations of current email, the lip movements may be
out of synchronisation as you move your finger under the text while reading.

Just Googled it... What's with the poxy small screen then? How do you do
'widescreen' like wot I can on me P900? Eh? Eh?

    :)

    Dave

PS.. Plus it looks even gayer than the P900 (somethig I wasn't sure was
    possible...)

The screen is quite readable, unless you're a blind gimp of course. Most
of the apps that need to can operate in a scrollable screen mode.

As I have never seen your P900 I cannot make a comparison. The OP asked
    for opinions.

I was looking at upgrades on orange the other week. The saleswoman
said "don't get the Treo - very difficult to use". YMMV.

Really? They must be really thick oop norf then. Even I got it
to use very quickly, and the fact that it's palm OS make is piss
easy to find the applications you fancy on the net. btw amazon
flogging 512 SD cards for just over £60. Which I found very reasonable
and the one I recieved wednesday now contains a nice selection of
music my treo600 plays with surprisingly good quality.

I'm sure there are some northern monkies even in Canary Wharf.
Or they heard your accent and assumed you wouldn't be able to
cope with something so sophisticated. ;-P
