What with you being the font of all knowledges in here... I've been
feeling under the weather the last few days, falling asleep at the
drop of a hat, headache, achey, bit of a temp, that sort of thing. Now
there's a few raised bumps appearing... Someone in the office has a
kid with chickenpox - you can't get that twice, can you?

On old myth! When you are older (than 20?) it can also turn into shingles,
    which is pretty grim AFAIK.

    :(

Good luck - but it's probably a virus you'll be over by the tomorrow.

Hmm... Could be serious. You'd better post some pictures so we can get a
    better diagnosis.

  6. Um shingles? You get spots from your navel, spreading round to your back.
Had that back in the earily-to-mid 70's. Changed the grearbox in my Triumph
Herald 13/60 estate while I was signed off work. My shirt was interesting
afterwards, as lying on my back on the garage floor popped all the whatsits
    on my my back. Hmmmm.

  7. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Snowleopard
Distemper. Scrape it off and emulsion all over.

    Up the duff.

Alternatively you are simply not well and I need to pop round and rub
some Vic into your chest. Do you have Vic or shall I bring my own?

Oh great... I hope it's just a heat rash or something. I'll slap some
camomile lotion on and maybe it'll be gone by the time I wake up
    tomorrow...

Chicken pox does not strike twice, except in very rare and unusual
cases. One infection gives lifelong immunity to the varicella-zoster
    virus.

Are they moving around under the skin? I saw something like that in a film
once, and it turned out pretty nasty.

As others have said, it sounds like shingles, in which case you have my
sympathies. Been there, done that & I'd rather have 4 broken limbs than
go through it again. If you catch it early enough (I didn't) you can get
drugs to help control the rash. If not, & you get it bad, expect several
weeks of nakedness as it'll be too painful to let any clothing touch
your skin. Get thee to a doctor first thing in the morning.

Richard Sterry secured a place in history by writing:
Shingles normally starts on one side of the body, not around the navel. And
you can't get chickenpox or shingles as a result of third-hand contact.

If it's shingles, stay away from pregnant women and children.
Seriously. Get the Doc to come round to you rather than trapse your
    germs all through the surgery.

And wipe your keyboard after each post too.

What do you mean by third hand contact? If you've had it, you can be a
carrier, but don't get any symptoms IIRC. Therefore you can get it off
someone who is carrying but doesn't look like they are.
Some people can get chicken pox more than once, as well.
