    Paging FOAK

I'm looking for an LED rope light to illuminate my camper van awning.
I'd prefer a flexible plastic sheathed one like this:-

but at £33/m it's way to expensive.

    This
    http://www.eurobatteries.com/sitepages/description6.asp?id=1695&cat=Festival Lights
is available at £10 for 4.8m which I regard as cheap but it's not
encased and it bound to get tangled up. (It's also 24v so I'll need a
    £20 step up transformer)

    Clues please?

For what this guy is trying achieve, i.e very low power awing lighting, the
inverter idea would be very expensive, power-wise.

The 24volt rope must shirley be able to dropped to 12 volts. There must be
either a main resistor in the link dropping the voltage/current limiting, as
most (unless internally regulated/resisted, will work at around 5v.
    Worth having a look at.
