to make a statement about the road rage assault I just experienced.

Picking eldest up from school, came out along the school road past 8
or 9 parked cars - about 2 cars from the end a flash merc appeared in
front of me. I stopped waiting for him to reverse back, he got out of
his car, leaned in grabbed me and tried to drag me out the car, then
grabbed my keys (saying you're going fucking nowhere) and got back
into his car. he was surrounded by a WALL of secondary school kids (my
lads mates) threw the keys out to them and drove off over the grass,
    scattering kids as he went.

Loads of kids with mobiles had phoned the police, as he got to end of
the road kids were blocking him in until the police arrived, fairly
smartly - the kids scattered, he drove off, followed by the first
police car, the second car pulled in took my details and the adult
    witnesses details.

I've now got to go and get photos taken of my injuries (scratches,
bruising and swelling to hands and wrists) and make a full statement.
I'm torn between 'that was ace' and 'that was fucking scary'.

    Exactly wot 'e said.

Followed by - be prepared for the reaction which will inevitably
follow. Shakes, panics, floods of tears and all that. Brush it
aside, let it happen, then have a stiff drink and a bar of chocklit,
    OK.

    U drive safely, now.

    Oooh 'eck.
"appeared?" as in pulled out, came past, or just *kaboom* like magic?
I don't get this bit of the story.
Oh shit.. That sounds like full on loopyness. Did he give any
indication as to why he was doing so, or what had upset him?
OK, that's him potentially done on dangerous driving too...
...on top of refusing to stop, and assault.. Looks like a very silly
    move.
    Nicely done.
Get the bastard sent down, and try not to let it get to you.

The shock will kick in later, and you'll probably have a good cry, but
hey, it's a cheap way to get a blast of endorphins.. I hope you're on
    the mend soon.

Take care, and yell if you need anything fetching from the shops.

Your solicitors have probably told you the drill already but don't
forget to phone the Samaritans tonight and threaten suicide because you
are traumatised. That will be a good 10% on top for your damages claim.

Awww, give the bloke a chance, he's a bit flustered. He saw an oportunity
for popping round to offer tea and 'comfort' and in his eagerness he
failed to read and inwardly digest the message properly. Easy mistake
    to make.

Ahh the version in my head had cars along the side of the road, and no
side streets. I'll have to take this imagination back and ask for a
    new one.

Try and get the most evil, bastardised lawyer you can find to clean this
piece of shit out financially and press plod all the way to force the
    conviction.
Don't let this incident get to you - it is still very rare.

Nasty. Hope you and the kids are recovering from the shock.
A bit risky. They could have been hurt.
Probably one heck of an adrenalin rush.
