I think our notion of unemployment benefit is completely fucked. Anyone who
falls out of work should have themselves (and family) supported at a
reasonable level. The current quality of life on the dole is inhuman. They
shouldn't be paid for nothing though, the State should either be putting
them to good use (1) each day or educating them (2).

(1) and I don't mean picking up fucking litter on motorways.
(2) to improve or broaden their prospects

It's funny what is considered racist these days.

We have the joyous prospect of a travellers' site being established near
our village. The parish council have submitted a very reasoned
objection, and are encouraging residents to write in with their (for or
against) views.

We are warned that any responses deemed racist by the county council
will be disregarded, and are specifically told that *any* reference to
crime will be seen as racist.

 

Similar thing here: there was a programme on Palestine the other day
(C'est dans l'Air [1]) and a colleague sent an SMS asking if they'd like
to tell us what happened to the 1.3 billion dollars US that Arafat
salted away from aid given by cretinous and gullible western governments
to fund terrorist attacks.

Her SMS never made on air.

We have a "legitimate" pikey site for the (static) travellers and even THEY
hate it when the area is inundated with travelling pikey shites. On a few
occasions, caravans have been know to erupt into blazing inferno's and by
**** do those aluminium boxes burn well.

Most of the travellers have EXCELLENT lawyers though who spend all their
time fighting councils and supporting the rights of the travellers to park
up where the **** they want to.
