Yeah, I've seen the difference.... I go frequently to local
bars but, I don't drink. I go to visit/play with various band
members that I know. When I leave, usually at close, I'm
never stopped at that time of the morning.

Conversely, back in the 70's, the LEO's would be in
waiting for the bar closers. I also recently sat on my
local grand jury. You can see it real well, all the various
drug, alcohol, weapons, etc. charges are generated
from stops for burned out taillight, lane change w/o
signal, low tire, etc. as the excuse for probable cause.

BJAY, ‘‘Why? Couldn't I just read here, at my leisure, sort and
digest info and go practice. Couldn't I just team up with one of the old
timers and get a quick lesson? Curious why do you think it is great for
rookies, and did you take it when you were a rookie????

Lou'weegi, My wife took it, and guess what, she was definately a novice,
or rookie. (like never rode a motorsicyle, like never even' started
    one.)
Lawdy' no, to your 2nd question. There wern't no such a thang in dem'

ok Bjay - so you are making just fine without the course, good. You didn't
need it but you think rookies need it? Did your wife learn anything you
could not of told or shown her? Isn't she still in training under your
guidance? From a skills standpoint was the course worth the time, money, and
    effort?
    Advise pls .... louie

Louie: Yes,I been making it (fine) many years okay. Her class
was labeled as ''Beginners Course'', doesnt that sound like (for)
rookies, for lack of a better term.
Honey passed got her cerificate, took it to the DPS LIc. Bureau here,
and took and passed the written, and has her Rider's License. I think
that is a good accomplishment. Yes, she learned, how to maneuver a
small bike around, stop it, do UTurns, without putting a foot down, how
to use the clutch in conjuntion with the back break, in slow maneuvers,
how Not To drop a bike, etc.
Now she needs to learn to go thru the 5 gears, and ride the real
    roadways, don't you think?
Yes, I am guiding her and helping her to ride a Shadow 750. Louie, she
had never even started a bike, before the class. I refer to her as a
    Rookie, whatChaThink? thanks, over, bjay)

Sounds like you've a plan. You know that whole process you and honey are
going through brings more than just riding skills.
For one, you get something new to argue about, huh??
So you think that course showed her things that you would not have been able
to show her? Was that course in the backwoods? Was the course worth the
time, money, and effort? How long you reckon before u 2 be riding Westward
    on individual machines?
Are u still with me ... louie

Louie I certainly am with you.
''This is not particularly something to argue about, is this what you
think we are doing? I say we are discussing an issue, that you
apparantly endorse, and I don't endorse, for an experienced
motorcyclist. I happen to be one, or you?
Did you learn some new riding techniques that you didnt already
know when you took the MSF? Louie did having the MSF Certificate help
out on your Insurance costs, like provide a discount?
I heard it can? You are trying
to be humorus (I guess?) by asking was her weekend MSF course conducted
in the backwoods, somewhere around here. (right?) (pretty cute,
    though<G>)
I told you earlier what she learned and what the real benefits were of
her taking the Beginners Course, right.
To be honest, I have never encouraged her to wanna learn to Ride. I
worry about it at times. No, she'll never actually ride on a trip, along
side me. She admits, that she merely wanted to learn, for the sake of
    learning.
We still go to the big concrete church lot, and she's practicing the
skills learned from her MSF Beginners Course, on a much larger
    Motorsickle.
Louie does your wife, or Galfriend ride two up with you?
Or has she ever shown inerest in learning to Ride? over,

come in Bjay, You and your wife are doing the motorcycle practice together,
    roger?
You are spending time together doing something new, and that presents the
    opportunity to argue about
new things. Do it this way, No they (the course/class) said to do this, no I
said, She said. ... This gives You and your Wife something

Bjay, nothing that you are someone with similar skills could not have told

Louie did having the MSF Certificate help

bjay ... Maybe the first year, a few dollars.

I had, could you have shown her those thing yourself?
Did you think the course was worth the time, money, effort, etc?

SAY BJAY) ‘‘Sure getting hard to decipher this thread...hope
    you answer my questions soon...
    (louie)!
    (Louies questions and comments:)
You and your wife are doing the motorcycle practice together,
    roger?

Bjay answers) Roger, and it is quite enjoyable, seeing her
    actually ride!

Louie continues)You are spending time together doing something new,
and that presents the opportunity to argue about
    new things.
BJay answers) No argument, I told her up front, that I
supported her in taking the Beg. Course. Since, she follows my
instructions & advice, with no argument. I kinda thank' she thanks' I am
preety cool, when it comes to bikes, heh hehe.

Louie offers)Do it this way, No they (the course/class) said to do
this, no I said, She said. ... This gives You and your Wife something
new....r u with me bjay. Not talking about me and u here.

Bjay answers) Oh, ohKay. Yes, she will compare with what she
learned, and compliment me, on pretty well instructing her along the
same guide lines. With one exception: I don't agree with using the front
wheel brake every time, as they told her.

Louie ask? BJAY, Could you have shown her those thing yourself? Did
you think the course was worth the time, money, effort, etc? When u
    heading W.?

Bjay answers): Yes, for the most part. But I was smart enuff, Louie,
to realize that she needed to learn the basic fundamentals from someone
else other than me. You know how it could be, husband teaching wife
anything. Plus, the advantage of not having to take the riding part of
the DPS test, in order for her to obtain R. License.
Yes, it was well worth her money. She paid for it.
The furthest west we ride is Forney Tx, close by Terrell. We <are>
drumming up a ride to the Hill Country, in March, though.

(question to Louie?)Did you learn some new riding techniques that
you didnt already know when you took the MSF?
    ----------------------------------------------
Bjay, nothing that you are someone with similar skills could not have
told me in a few minutes.

Lastly to Louie, I ask, then Why? What was your motive in taking the MSF
    Beginners Course, like Honey did????
LOUIE, I tried real hard like, making this response coherant enough that
you can decifer it okay, Bub. (thanks, over,BJAY)

OKAy, I think I will do some assuming here. I think you took the MSF
Beginners course, because all your buddies did, and you got enthuised,
and thought I'd better do it also.
Other wise it was an Insurance advantage.
Otherwise, what on earth were you thinking, unless you needed a
refresher course, yeah, I bet that's it. Otherwise, Thanks Louie, chat
    later witch'cha. heh heh. Otherwise,Bjaykana)
