Do you care about price? Go direct to Verizon if not. £105 for 2048.

Alternatively there have been lots of consumer isp recommendations here
recently. Zen seem fine if you can live with the port 135-9 blocking.
Christo is finding BE to be good but beware, the helpdesk is in Spain or
    somesuch.

    Demon.
Static IP is optional on their Business offerings, make sure that you get
    the right options.

ADSL24 are very good for me, they're not uncapped, but they divide
into peak/off-peak, and the limits are high enough that the don't
bother me. No port blocking that I can tell, no traffic shaping etc

Thanks but I wouldn't touch Demon with yours. They were good, about 10
    years ago.

Nah, I know their business model, when the customers complain too much
they might think about sorting problems out.

Plus have you seen the amount of email they loose?

  10. Nobody knows how much email they are loosing and they are being very
very very quiet about it right now. They are supposed to be stopping
98% of spam at "the edge" too, which means they stopped over half a
million to my inbox alone yesterday. I think that to say that their
incoming mail is currently in meltdown is understating it by quite some
    degree.

That said I do get me mail elsewhere anyway so don't give shit and get
seamless general internet and not too much limiting for me tenner a
    month.

90% of my mail is delivered to two locations so I'd spot any
significant losses, there haven't been any. I shifted 100GB last month
and as soon as the minimum period is up with BT I'll probably switch
the phone line. They did drop an almighty bollock by getting their
mail server hacked and addresses stolen.
The very few times I've used it I've got through OK, as you say the
online is fine. As a plus the phone is UK based even if staffed by
    norverners.

    Bulgaria.

That said, they're technically on-the-ball so far, and quite helpful.
We seem to be having a few problems with a poor connection. After
talking to the neighbours it would appear that the culprit is highly
likely to be the phone line/master socket as they've had similar.

Hmm, are you sure? I haven't heard of their reliability going down the
    drain recently.

Yup, as Colin says I've been with them for a while (almost six years)
    and I can't break^Wfault their service.

They're not the cheapest around, but I've had very few problems
compared to some of the horror stories you hear from other people. In
fact, all the incidents I've ever had in that time can still be counted
on one hand without growing additional fingers, and both were/are a BT
issue. My neighbour recently had a BT issue that took more than a month
to sort out; in contrast, when I needed a BT engineer to check the line
at my end around the same time, they got one out to my place within a
    couple of days.

It's also very nice to be able to talk to proper techies when dealing
with line issues. For me it's business critical to have a decent ISP
(especially since I've gone EKS again) and I'd dumped them a long time
ago if they weren't any good.

  19. NO NO NO NO..

I've just left them for being ineffective, unable to run a network to
save their lives and having a helpdesk which seems to have the stated
goal of never *actually* helping anyone.

Which is sad really - I'd been with them since the early-mid 90's (when
they were a techie ISP). But since they got borged by Thus they have
turned into a pile of crap.

  20. True. But sad (I can still remember my original Demon 158.152
    address..)
