So there shouldn't be any scheduling problems next year with the MotoGP, but
I was wondering - why can't F1 be staged at Rockingham - it's the most
modern circuit the UK has got isn't it?

Don't you think it's wrong that the country that provides 90% of the
cars and engines won't have a GP, though?

Ah there is a stickier question.

Does the Uk deserve one though? If you look at the amount of money being put
into the newer places, the answer is probably no, it doesn't - regardless of
how much of the industry is based here.

Every F1 race I have seen this year has been boring as watching rather dull
matt paint dry in cold weather, with any luck the sport as we know it will
    die a complete death.

Actually, I can never figure out why they don't take away the
aerodynamics, and give them back the mechanical grip. That ought to
    liven up the racing nicely.

I agree. I have always maintained that the only way to get proper racing
back into the sport is to give control back to the drivers. A gear
stick, slick tyres, and lower down force is all you need to do.

And why not. Think of all the things you did to liven up you're
Scalextric- baby oil on the hairpin, 1/72 scale spitfire dropping Lego
bombs on the main straight - they haven't thought it through.

And a loosening of the rules. IMHO the rules are so strict that
everybody ends up producing pretty much the same car. Where's the modern
day 6 wheeled elf or the fan assisted downforce Lotus, all banned, and
whats left is a bunch of identikit cars where the only overtaking is
    done in the pits.

I think they've just totally over-sanitised it for the sake of safety.
When was the last time a driver died in a race? Senna wasn't it - over
a decade ago. That can't be right for the 'pinnacle' of motor sport.

The fact the drivers don't even bother trying most of the time doesn't
help. All that money, yet they only drive flat out for a couple of laps
either side of a pit stop, if at all. As for the overtaking, the Indy
car drivers seem to manage ok on the street circuits.

I bet if they changed the points allocation a bit it would make a
difference; something like 5 points for everyone who maintained an
average lap speed within 3% of their qualifying time.
