I'm looking for some hiking/walking boots.

I see Altberg do a range and as I've been impressed with the bike boots I've
got I'm tempted with a pair of their walking/hiking type boots - any one got
    a pair? Any good?

Otherwise what other brands are reasonably priced but decent quality?

I've got two pairs of Zamberlan boots ... Both are about 9 years old
and are in excellent condition despite daily use. They're very comfy,
hard wearing and have proper Vibram soles. I'd happily recommend them
    to anyone.

Well worth the £105 paid in 1996 for #1 pair.

I`ve got a beloved pair of Brasher Hillmaster Boots, about 10 yrs old too, roughly UKP90
(prolly over UKP100 now) which have been comfy since the day I bought and
wore them; light as anything too and fully waterproof..However, nothing can beat going
to a good camp/climb shop and trying on a few pairs to find what suits your foot/ankle
preference, etc & having a walk round the place a few times.
